Facebook ‘Collections’ Another Source Of Potential Revenue

Social media – and specifically Facebook – have changed the way people buy and sell online.  And while the concept, and frankly, the interest in F-commerce died down in 2012, Facebook changed that this week.  On Monday reports surfaced of Facebook’s newest offering ‘Collections.’ The new feature is in beta and is currently limited to seven major retailers (Fab.com, Victorias Secret, Pottery Barn, etc..).

And with the launch of Collections, Facebook has finally given the “Like” button the sibling it has always wanted with the “Want” button. Using the “Want” button, users can express all of their shopping desires for everything from unique vintage finds to new furniture.

Infographic: The Interest in Pinterest

Interest in Pinterest has not slowed much, even if plans for a “pinteresting summer” have not quite developed as most hoped. The company recently opened the gates for anyone to register, without needing an invite. This should only help the former up-and-comer turned behemoth’s impressive growth curve. SAP did a fine job taking a look at over 5B Pinterest impressions from across the web, analyzing conversations and gathering great insights about the discussion happening on and around Pinterest.
